I’m currently working on a personal short film project starring two Bratz dolls. I’m recreating chunks of LA in Blender for a car chase and helicopter sequence that could not be filmed (on our tiny budget).

In a full CG sequence, Cameron and Dylan will take to the streets of LA in their pink convertible.

Leveraging Google GIS data and Blender’s geometry nodes I was able to create this low poly version of downtown LA for the view out of a helicopter.

The car chase will terminate at this freeway exit.

I’m texturing these sign assets to be retro-reflective for added realism.

Stay tuned for updates…

Because I want the chase to really feel like its in LA and not some generic collection of models, I’m custom building models and textures for certain iconic features. I modeled and textured everything on this bus except for the wheels.

Physics based vehicle rigs will add extra chaos thanks to the RBC addon for Blender.
